Dr Rathod Medical Foundation was inspired by Mr. Felix Gomez, a patient from Dubai. Mr. Gomez after having visited some of the so-called ‘best’ centers in the world, and traveling far and wide to get an accurate diagnosis for his ailment, it was only in 2004 that he came to Dr. Rathod and was finally diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer on Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) that had already, by then, reached a terminal stage.

It was Felix’s wish and dream that something is done about patients suffering from pancreatic cancer and that doctors be trained properly to provide timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment so that no one should be subjected to the same fate of what he had been through.

As a result, Dr. Rathod Medical Foundation was founded in 2005 and today is working on multiple levels. The foundation conducts clinical research and trials in pancreatic cancer, fellowship training to provide world-class training to Gastroenterologists and Endoscopists, continued medical education (CME) for physicians and general practitioners, a monthly newsletter "Gastrovision" to update doctors of latest developments in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy which is mailed to 10,000 physicians in India and many more emailed, to provide highly subsidized/free treatment to the underprivileged, free medical health camps, Elearning portal 'www.enodscopyguru.com', LIVE webinars beamed acroos the world, television interviews with Dr Rathod on national television to raise an awareness for gastrointestinal diseases for the general public.

The Foundation has been growing and working relentlessly towards the general upliftment of the quality of diagnosis, treatment, training, education, research.... etc. Dr Rathod Medical Foundation completed 10 years of service to humanity in May 2015, and to mark this occasion the foundation organized AGES (Advanced Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Symposium) – The 1st National Update for Clinicians to raise an awareness for gastrointestinal diseases which was attended by 1200 physicians.
